The Porsche Boxster came along in the 1990's it was quite a revelation as its handling was supreme and it was so nimble. The main reason for this was that Porsche had come up with a different design again. The had opted for a six cylinder boxer engine but they had mid mounted this in the car for optimum weight distribution. It was also a roadster making it very special. The car was initially produced with a 2.5 litre engine and this was always thought as slightly under powered. Then a 2.7 was introduced into the range, this was a little better but the 3.2 S was the one to have. It had 305Nm of torque in the most beautifully balanced machine it really was a true drivers car.

The Porsche Boxster is still going strong today and after a few very minor tweaks to its appearance it is still based around the same recipe that made it so strong in the first place. The Boxster was on the first Porsche's to be "mass produced" and was more affordable than its bigger brother the 911. It made Porsche ownership accessible to to those who previously may not of been able to afford the price tag on the 911's. In addition to this the Boxster S gave the closest alternative to the 911 with handling and performance in the range.
